Dr. Veronica Y. White
Ph.D., LMHC, NCC
Dr. Veronica Y. White is CEO/Founder/Owner of V. White & Associates, Inc., a private mental health practice located in Winter Park, Florida. She is a psychotherapist, trainer, consultant, and educator with extensive professional experience. She is a graduate of the University of Florida in Gainesville, where she earned the Ph.D. Degree (Doctor of Philosophy) in Counselor Education in 2000. The title of her dissertation is “Racial Identity Development Among Black Students At A Historically Black University And At A Predominantly White University in Florida.” She previously obtained the Ed.S. Degree from this flagship university.
Dr. White is also a graduate of the University of North Florida where she earned the M.A. Degree (Master of Arts) in Counseling and the B.A. Degree (Bachelor of Arts) in Psychology. She earned the A.A. Degree (Associate of Arts) from Florida Community College at Jacksonville. She has completed further training at Florida Mental Health Institute, University of South Florida, and also the University of Miami. This formal training and educational background has contributed to her career in the counseling, psychological, and educational fields.
Dr. White, was nominated to “Who’s Who of Professional and Business Women.” She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She is also a Board Certified Fellow and Board Certified Diplomat. She holds additional certifications in adult/children assessment, disaster mental health, and HIV training-consulting. Specialty areas include stress/anger management, cultural-diversity, HIV technical assistance/support services, training, and consultation services to the social, educational and business communities.
Dr. White is also founder and president of the Millennium Book Club, the fulfillment of a 1997 vision. The club has hosted several book signings for its members and other writers in the local and state communities. She is active in her church and local communities. Dr. White has authored several publications since her dissertation, including “Son, Can We Talk?” “Stress Management for the New Millennium,” “How to Beat Holiday Depression,” “Patient-Centered Culturally Sensitive Healthcare” and most recently “Hurricane Katrina: In Retrospect-A Mental Health Professional’s Experience.”
Dr. White holds professional memberships and actively contributes to her church, local, state and national communities. She has served the Koinonia, New Members, and Teaching Ministries. She served as the inaugural president of the Central Florida Chapter of the Association of Black Psychologists. She is also honored with a Supreme Court Appointment to the Florida Board of Bar Examiners. She is a member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, including the Central Florida Chapter and lifetime member of the NAACP.
Dr. White has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show and presented on Ask the Experts, Community Connection and Talk Radio in Miami.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, she currently resides in Orlando, Florida. Dr. White enjoys traveling, art collecting, contemporary music, and entertaining family and friends.
